What Is An Owl Pellet?
Owls have no teeth. They swallow their food whole, bones and all. An Owl Pellet is a capsule like mass that owls regurgitate, throw up, after eating. Each Owl Pellet can contain fur, bones, teeth, claws, and other animal remains. Whatever the Owl ate, that it could not digest. Owl Pellets can often be found around areas that an Owl lives or frequents. Our Owl Pellets are gathered from local Barn Owls.

We live and work in Historic Baker City, Oregon. Nestled between the Blue Mountains and the Wallowa Mountains of Eastern Oregon. A beautiful and prime country for wildlife of all varieties. We collect our pellets from the local area.

After collection the owl pellets are heated to kill any harmful bacteria. This makes them safe to ship. But more importantly safe for you and your children to handle.

I’m a GuyI recently dissected an Oregon owl pellet at a nature educators class and it was so fun so I ordered 20 for my preschool class. They loved it! The pellets came individually wrapped which was nice. My package also came with a bone matching chart which was very cool for the kids. The tip to add a spray of water to the pellets before letting the kid's dig in was very helpful. It softened them enough so they were able to dissect it without breaking the bones. I will definitely be doing this again!
